In April 2024, Japan's first Six Senses brand hotel "Six Senses Kyoto" celebrated its grand opening brilliantly.
This hotel is designed as a luxury space that makes you feel the history and nature of the ancient capital Kyoto, featuring interiors that reproduce the grace of the Heian period with modern interpretation.
The design with the concept of "Miyabi (Elegance)" skillfully incorporates harmony between tradition and modernity, and art works with motifs of Japanese folktales and old tales are arranged in various places, expressing timeless beauty.
We, Stucco Plus Co., Ltd., are very honored to have been able to be involved in this project.
Especially, the walls using Italian plaster that we were in charge of bring further depth and dignity coupled with the artwork in the hotel.
We are proud to have been able to contribute even a little to this beautiful space creation, and introduce a part of it here.
Modest yet profound moon artwork
In a corner of the guest room, delicate moon artwork using PER-LUNA NUOVA is applied.
It is so modest that first-time visitors can easily overlook it, but if you stay and look closely, you can see that a rabbit is hiding in the faintly emerging moon.
In this artwork, the rabbit's ears are expressed abstractly and fused with the shape of the moon, blurring the boundary between Kyoto's traditional aesthetics and sophisticated modern art.
This casually applied presentation gives a quiet surprise to visitors and has the effect of soothing the mind.
Such playful design symbolizes the gracefulness of Kyoto and is part of the unique spatial experience provided by Six Senses Kyoto.

Bold plaster artwork harmonizing with the sound of flowing water

The bold plaster artwork applied to the entire wall uses pale colors and has smoothness unique to Italian plaster that cannot be produced with Japanese plastering materials.
This mural harmonizes with the atmosphere of the entire spa area and creates a comfortable relaxation space with the sound of flowing water.
In this artwork, each cloud is carefully shaped by hand.
Natural fluidity and depth are brought, showing different expressions depending on the viewing angle.
Fantastic artwork imitating the Milky Way

Summary
Every experience at Six Senses Kyoto offers ultimate healing where tradition and innovation are fused.
We are proud that we could be involved in this project and help create a beautiful space by utilizing our technology and creativity.
We look forward to your visit.
We hope you spend a special time in this place.
